Our Healthy Choices Program Supports Mentorship and Sustainable Goals.
MENTORSHIP
This practice provides at-risk youth with positive and consistent adult or older peer contact to promote healthy development and functioning by reducing risk factors. The primary goal of the program is to provide one-on-one support and companionship as a supplement to the services the program offers. The program’s training and supervision model draws on multiple theoretical elements the importance of being in tune with the mentor’s responses and therapeutic techniques such as active listening.
SUSTAINABLE GOALS
We believe, that mental health and building confidence matter. Young people learn to shape their future, based on their dreams, not their obstacles. They are guided by hardworking adults whose life experiences sound familiar. Our staff reflects the communities and cultures of our youth. We set the bar high and lead by example, putting our values of respect, collaboration, and open communication into everything we do.
